General questions

Do I need an account to use the app?

Yes. Creating an account is required to use the app. It allows data to be synchronized across your devices, except for the card number, PIN, and purchase receipts, which are stored on your phone.

Are my data sent to a server?

Yes. Essential information about your cards (such as the card name, balance, expiration date, etc.) is securely stored on our servers. Only the card number, PIN, and purchase receipts, which are considered sensitive, are kept locally on your device and are never transmitted.

Can I use the app offline?

No. The app requires an Internet connection to work properly, notably to sync your data and ensure a smooth experience.

Can I transfer my data to another device?

Yes. By signing in with your account on a new device, you'll automatically find all your cards and settings, except for the card number, PIN, and purchase receipts, which are only stored locally on your previous device.
If you want to keep these, you can use the sharing feature (available to Premium members) to generate a PDF containing the card details, including its number and PIN. This document can then be transferred securely.

Should I keep proof of my gift cards?

Yes. Gift Card Manager is a convenient tool to manage and track your gift cards, but it does not replace the original proof provided by the retailer (receipts, confirmation emails, or physical cards). We strongly recommend keeping all official purchase documents, which may be required in case of a claim, loss, or dispute with the merchant.

What happens if I lose or break my phone?

If you sign in on a new device, you'll recover your brands, balances, and expiration dates. However, card numbers, PINs, and receipt photos will be lost as they were only stored locally on your old device. That's why we always recommend keeping your original receipts.

How can I delete my account and data?

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the app by going to the My Account tab > Top right menu > Unsubscribe.

Is the app free?

Yes, the app is free to download on iOS and Android.

Are there in-app purchases?

The basic app is free, but to fully secure your purchasing power, we offer a Premium mode available as a subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime payment. This ultimate vault unlocks unlimited card storage, advanced anti-expiration alerts so you never lose a cent, easy card sharing, receipt backup, and a 100% ad-free experience.

Is there a card limit in the free version?

Yes. With the free version, you can protect up to 2 cards at a time. To add more cards and unlock all advanced features, you can upgrade to the Premium version.

Can I track the balance of my gift cards?

Yes. You can record and update the balance at any time to track your spending.

Is it possible to track my expenses?

Yes. Each time you use a card, you can record a transaction to update the balance and keep a record of your purchases.

Can I scan my card’s barcode?

Yes. The app lets you scan the barcode to make in-store use easier.

Will the app warn me before a card expires?

Yes. You can enable expiration date reminders and even choose their frequency with the advanced reminders option.

Can I share a gift card with someone?

Yes. With a Premium membership, you can generate a PDF containing all essential information about your gift card (brand, initial amount, balance, expiration date). You can also include the card number and PIN if you wish. This PDF can then be shared via email, WhatsApp, or any other app. Note that you are fully responsible for sharing this information. The app publisher cannot be held liable in the event of fraudulent use or data theft.

Does my card balance update automatically after an in-store purchase?

No. For security and privacy reasons, our app does not connect to retailers' systems. It's up to you to add a transaction in the app after your purchase to keep your balance up to date.

What if the store scanner can't read my screen?

If the merchant's optical reader (often older models) can't read your smartphone screen, you can simply read out the card number displayed just below the barcode in the app to the cashier.

Backup

What is the backup feature for?

The backup lets you export an encrypted file containing your card numbers and PINs. Since this data is stored only on your phone, it would be lost if your device is lost, broken, or stolen. With this file, you can restore everything on a new device at any time.

How does backup encryption work?

When creating a backup, you set a personal password. The exported file is encrypted with that password — no one can access your data without it. Keep it safe, as it cannot be recovered.

Where should I store my backup file?

We recommend storing the file on a secure cloud service such as iCloud or Google Drive. This ensures you always have access to it, even if you switch devices.
